Following an extremely dry winter, the much-needed precipitation arrived abundantly in April and May. The weather during the late flowering period was relatively unstable, making us grateful when the first hot spell of the year arrived at the end of June, followed by a hot and dry July. When two hailstorms struck our vineyards in August, nearly 20% of our harvest were destroyed in mere minutes. Following the rain and storms in August, September blessed us with plenty of sunshine, facilitating a proper ripening period. Consequently, the main harvest could start by the end of September, and we were able to pick the last grapes on the 24th of October – marking the first time in our 24-year history of wine production that we finished before the 1st of November. As a result of the past year's conditions, we brought home a small harvest characterized by excellent sugar-ripeness and smooth acidity. Compared to previous vintages, the wines offer warmer and riper aromas. In my opinion, this year’s wines exhibit a well-balanced profile, with ample structure and alcohol content.
